Sell the Products, then the Business

With Network Marketng, if you are there at the early stages, you can make money. $50 to start a business, I don't think so and with the internet, today's investment to get started and to actually start running a network marketing business, is in the region of $5000, at minimum. That should take you through the first year of web presence, pay-per-click, dvd's, presentations etc.

These days there are so many Network marketing companies, all promoting the get rich quick idea. It's definitely not that, although I do know some people who are doing quite well. It's like acting, some make a living, others make a fortune, in fact pick any business and there are minor success stories and there are major success stories, and there are failures, it has a lot to do with timing and effort. Then there are always those who thought that by getting a business card printed, they were business owners. Unless you are willing to work twice as hard as you do at your current job, you'll fail at network marketing plus you will need cash, regardless of what your upline might tell you,
you will need cash. It's a business and if you want to own and operate a business, you need cash.

I am happy to say that I recently did get involved in a network marketing company called the Trump Network and it is a state of the art set-up. It's not going to be easy but of all the network companies that I've been approached about over the years, this stood out from the rest, more so from a branding perspective but as a member of that elite club called the baby boomers, I tried the products before the business and I'm a pretty health conscious person, the products while quite expensive, stood out from any other products I've tried or tasted. Their custom vitamin program
is quite exceptional too, that's six months with more energy and not one sign of a cold or flu. Something else that intrigued me was the idea of getting in early enough in a relatively new company, with a worldwide brand name.

I already run a successful business and for some crazy reason I am now filling in My Other 8 Hours, sorry, make that 6 with the Trump Network. Maybe I'll last a year but I am learning things on a daily basis that I can utilize in my regular day to day business, so to me it's been a win-win. I am actually a minority in network marketing, in that I'm more interested in selling the product than the business. Most people don't have the time or the $500/$600 a month to start the business and be successful in it but most people do have $2 a day for the customized vitamin products. Bottomline is be careful about getting sucked into network marketing, whether it be Trump Network, Mary Kay or Amway etc. know exactly what you are doing, selling, and research your expectant earnings versus expenses, if you can't afford it, don't do it, I knew someone who got suckered in and lost everything because of his slot machine mentality, he felt just one more month, just one more month, it has to pay off soon...sad thing is, it didn't.

Network Marketing is not for everyone. Try it at your own risk but if you fail, don't just blame the company, as with most businesses that fail, it's usually the person with the business card, aka the owner.

The Time is now

So the time has come. The big day has arrived. The official launch is finally here. Don't panic just yet if you haven't already started your business. Now is a time to be even more careful about the team you join. The launch by Donald Trump today in Miami will now open the flood gates. It took me 4 years to reach a million dollars in my other business, I think I can do better this time around.

The Final Countdown

The final countdown was the title of a big hit for one of the big hair bands back in the 80's but for today's lesson, it relates to the countdown to the official launch of Trump Network, later this week in Miami.

This launch will be a bigger hit than anything we've ever experienced. The big question is, what does Donald have in mind for the launch, the follow up, the media blitz, who knows. It's one of the best kept secrets. You can be sure it won't be done in small measures.

This coming Friday is Friday 13th and if you're superstitious like me, it's all good. I came to America 20 years ago on Friday, that's right, we flew to start a new life on Monday, November 13th 1989. I've closed properties on the 13th, my business mailbox is 13. It's been a lucky number for me on many occasions and this Friday will be no exception. I'm so excited to be a part of history.

Friday will probably go down in business world history as the launch of the biggest network marketing company ever. That's right, Donald Trump will be in Miami on Friday to launch the newest network marketing company, Trump Network.

How did this happen?

Many people are wondering how Donald Trump got involved in the network marketing business. Most times an icon like this would be a spokesperson for a company, a face to help the brand. Not this time. Mr. Trump is in hook, line and sinker, and together with the three founders is about to launch a company that will take many to the next level in their careers and lives.

The original company that has spawned Trump Network is Ideal Health. It was founded 12 years ago by two brothers, Todd and Scott Stanwood, and their friend Lou DeCaprio. Network Marketing is changing

The network marketing business model has been around for many years. It's had it's good times and it's bad times. The bad times were under the Multi Level Marketing umbrella. So that being said, where does the industry stand today. It's now primarily know as Network Marketing, avoiding the confusion with MLM, Pyramid Schemes. Well, it's an ever growing industry and there a very few products that do not or have not had a form of network marketing for their business.

The people involved are called Distributors or Marketers, either way essentially they are a Sales Person. We all know someone who is employed as a Salesperson, whether it's at Macys or for the international widget company. In the Network Marketing arena, there is no base salary, so it's commission only, which can put people off but some of the highest earners in the world are commission only salespeople.

Don't be turned off by the negatives you hear about Network Marketing. It has created more wealth for the average person than any other type of business. You don't need a degree or have to be a rocket scientist, you just have to believe in yourself, believe in your product and have a passion for meeting people. Word of mouth is probably the best form of advertising for any business, it's how we hear about lot things we buy. In Network Marketing you need to create as many walking billboards as possible, whether they come in to your business and start their business or just as a customer. Many customers remain just that, customers but many go on to start their business or as a walking billboard tell their friends and family about your business and it can snowball from there. It's not quite that simple but with hard work and effort, you can be very successful in this business.

When is a good time? There are three keys to success in Network Marketing, 1. Unique Product, 2. Emerging/Growth Market 3. Consumer Driven. If you have this Trifecta in your Network Marketing company, chances are you have a winner. Add to that, Network Marketing thrives in a down economy as people attempt to create Option B. People who would never have given Network Marketing a second glance, are now more than willing to take a closer look.

Education helps Hesitation

The title says it all. When we are making a decision, it had better be an educated one or we'll make the wrong decision. If we're not educated about the product we are buying or selling, then that causes anxiety which leads to hesitation.

I urge everyone reading this to educate yourself on this opportunity and not just rush into it and be disappointed because you feel you were not fully informed. As I've said before it took me a number of weeks after the initial presentation to get involved. I researched Ideal Health, I researched The Trump Network, I researched Network Marketing. What I found was more positives than negatives. Industry professionals clamoring to get on board. Senior level executives at companies coming on board. It maybe be hype but Microsoft has hype, Apple has hype, in fact any successful company has hype of some sort....and usually driven by the company themselves.

This company is currently Pre-hype as we have not even launched the company and it's already generated an industry frenzy.

I don't mean to hype it even more but this is a Network Marketing opportunity, the likes of which has not been seen for many, many years. Pre-launch of this calibre is unheard of. The brand name will sell the products and the products are so unique, there is no competition out there. Never say Never

It was Sean Connery's answer to a question with regards to him considering his James Bond role again. He is still the best Bond, but that is more for another blog maybe.

Over the years having been approached by Amway, Herbalife, Mon a Vie, Arbonne, etc. my answer was always, I'd never be interested in Network Marketing, it just wasn't for me. I could never understand it. I never educated myself on it the way I have with The Trump Network. The reason I took the time was the brand. It's the key to any and every successful company.
